McRae Family Update (6/27/23)

Greetings!

Our most recent school came to its bitter-sweet end this past May. Once again, we count ourselves incredibly privelaged to have witnessed these students make their own Emmaus Road Journey over the past 10 months, but it’s always hard to say goodbye! We’re really proud of these students.

The hunger and fire that was kindled in the hearts of these students for God’s Word is truly what keeps us going year after year. It is our family’s personal belief that the Bible is the most accessible way to know the character and nature of God, and so it is our greatest desire to help others know God through His Word.

Why is the Bible so Important?

What’s New?

Starting this year, I (Jacob) will be stepping into my new role as Academic Director of Emmaus’ School of Biblical Studies! Emmaus now runs four different Bible training programs, but the school is our most intensive program and has continued to be the arm of our ministry that I am most passionate about.

Jacob McRae
Academic Director – School of Bilbical Studies

“Jacob and his wife Samantha came from Alaska to join Emmaus as students in 2016 and eventually joined staff in 2017. Since then, they have had two kids and Jacob now serves as the Academic Director of the School of Biblical Studies, he is also studying Biblical Hebrew through Kairos Classroom. Jacob is particularly passionate about the Old Testament and learning about the story that ultimately led to Jesus. He is only slightly less passionate about Tolkien, coffee, and queso.”

Prayer and Financial Need

  1. Our efforts to grow our network of supporters continues! Our goal for this year is to increase our monthly support by $800. This would allow:
    • Jacob to step away from his part time job and dedicate all of his energies toward his work at Emmaus.
    • It would also contribute to our long-term goal of saving enough money to buy a house.
  2. We also have a more immediate need in that the car Jacob uses daily for work is dying. After taking it into the mechanic recently, we found that it won’t be running much longer and the repairs would cost more than the car is ultimatley worth. At this point in time, we do not have the money to purchase another car.
  3. Lastly, please be praying for our upcoming programs and the students that God is leading into them.
